We obtained an optical spectrum (range: 398-686 nm; resolution 0.3 nm) of ASASSN-15ph (ATEL #8028) on 2015 September 12.346 UT with the Hiltner 2.4 m telescope (+OSMOS) of the MDM Observatory on Kitt Peak, Arizona. We used SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) to perform a cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra. We find that the spectrum of ASASSN-15ph is most consistent with normal Type Ia SN 8 days after maximum light. After correcting for the host galaxy redshift (z=0.041), we measure a Si II 635.5 nm expansion velocity of -9980 km/s.
