Spectra were obtained on UT Aug. 20.23 and Aug. 20.34 of ASASSN-15no (ATEL #7869) and (CBAT) PSN J22412689+3917220 using the 1.82-m Plaskett telescope (National Research Council of Canada) covering the range 365-720 nm (resolution 0.35 nm). Cross-correlation with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows ASASSN-15no to be a SN Ic at approximately 39 days post-maximum light. Our solution yields a redshift of z=0.043. A narrow H-alpha emission, presumably from the nearby galaxy SDSS J153825.20+465404.1 has been measured and shows a redshift of z=0.039. For the (CBAT) PSN 22412689+3917220 we find a fit to the template of the sub-luminous SN 2005hk at a phase of T=-5 days from maximum light.
