MUSE classification of ASASSN-15ja

We report an optical spectrum of ASASSN-15ja (ATEL #7502) obtained on UT 2015 May 15.4 with the MUSE integral field spectrograph mounted to the 8m Very Large Telescope (VLT) UT-4. The wavelength covers 480 to 920 nm. The object resembles a normal type Ia SN a few days pre-maximum light. SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) best fit is to SN 2003it at -2d before maximum light. (SNID fit available here: http://www.das.uchile.cl/~lgalbany/ASASSN-15ja.pdf ). The observation was taken close to the end of twilight.
