We obtained an optical spectrum (range 350-760 nm) of ASASSN-15fj (ATel #7257) on UT Mar 24.48 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). The spectrum is that of a Type Ia. Cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra using SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that ASASSN-15fj is a normal Type Ia SN at +8 days after maximum light. The redshift obtained by SNID from the SN features is z=0.045 +/- 0.003, and after correcting the spectrum for this redshift we measure a Si II 635.5nm expansion velocity of -10600 km/s.
