MASTER OT J234441.46+251718.9 - new CV

MASTER-Kislovodsk auto-detection system discovered OT source at (RA, Dec) = 23h 44m 41.46s +25d 17m 18.9s on 2014-11-25.68131 UT. The OT unfiltered magnitude is 18.6m (limit 20.3m). The OT is seen in 4 images. There is no minor planet at this place. We have reference image without OT on 2012-07-23.01324 UT with unfiltered magnitude limit 19.4m.

The OT at quiescence is identical to the faint blue star SDSS J234441.49+251718.7 (g=22.65 r=22.08 i=22.59). Nothing is present at this position in 1RXS, GALEX, USNO-B, 2MASS, GCVS and AAVSO VSX.

This area of sky in Pegasus was observed by NEAT project on 18 nights from 2000 Aug. 05 to 2002 Nov. 10. A total of 55 images were obtained. No outbursts were detected. There were no previous detections by Catalina Sky Survey.

Based on the blue color and amplitude of variability (about 4m), MASTER OT J234441.46+251718.9 is a new cataclysmic variable (dwarf nova in outburst). Follow up observations are encouraged. The discovery and reference images are available at: http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/234441.46251718.9.png

MASTER OT J010728.48+033348.4 - flaring QSO

MASTER-Kislovodsk auto-detection system discovered OT source at (RA, Dec) = 01h 07m 28.48s +03d 33m 48.4s on 2014-11-25.75205 UT. The OT unfiltered magnitude is 18.6m (limit 20.1m). The OT is seen in 6 images. There is no minor planet at this place. We have reference image without OT on 2011-09-27.97984 UT with unfiltered magnitude limit 20.4m.

The OT at quiescence is identical to the star-like object SDSS J010728.57+033348.6 (g=21.11 r=20.65 i=20.26). It has UV, infrared and radio counterparts GALEX J010728.5+033351 (NUV=21.9), AllWISE J010728.60+033347.9 (W1=14.96 W2=14.14 W3=12.32 W4=8.77) and NVSS 010728+033348 = PMN J0107+0333, respectively. There is also an X-ray source 1RXS J010729.5+033341 (ROSAT flux=0.0255+/-0.0106 cnts/s, hardness ratios HR1=0.02+/-0.40 HR2=0.21+/-0.52, error circle 26") formally 16" away.

Based on IR colors, X-ray, UV and radio detections MASTER OT J010728.48+033348.4 is a new flaring quasar. There is no data on the redshift available in Simbad and NED. Spectral and multi-wavelength follow up observations are required. The discovery and reference images are available at: http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/010728.48033348.4.png
