A 0535+26 Begins Outburst

The Be/X-ray transient pulsar A 0535+26 is beginning another outburst. Observations with RXTE/PCA on December 15.4 and 17.3 show fluxes of 4 and 28 mCrab respectively. These fluxes, which are based on the standard 1 PCA rates (2.5-60 keV), are lower than at the same phase in the previous 111 day orbit cycle (ATel #595 and #597).
