We report optical spectroscopic observations of ASASSN-14kg (ATel #6714) obtained on UT Nov 18.2 with FAST (range 3600-7450 Angstroms) mounted on the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope. The spectrum shows a blue continuum with broad Balmer lines (H-alpha FWHM ~ 12000 km/s) at the redshift of the host, consistent with a young Type II SN. It also shows a strong Na I D line (EW=1.5 Angstroms) at the redshift of the host galaxy. A plot of the spectrum can be found here.
