Following its posting on the Transient Objects Confirmation Page, we commenced observations of PSN J00150875-3912501 in NGC 55 with the ATCA + CABB 2 GHz backend system on 2014 Oct 7.5 at a frequency of 18 GHz. No radio emission was detected at the reported location, to a 3-sigma upper limit of 0.04 mJy. Adopting the median host galaxy distance of 2.0 Mpc from NED, this implies an upper limit on the luminosity for what appears to be either a classical nova or an LBV eruption (ATel#6548) of 1.9E23 erg/s/Hz. The Australia Telescope Compact Array is funded by the Commonwealth of Australia for operation as a National Facility managed by CSIRO.
