INTEGRAL performed further and longer observations (PI: Fiocchi M.) in the direction of the
recently newly discovered gamma-ray transient AGL J1608-5253 (ATel #6427), in addition to those
already reported in ATel #6428.
From Aug 24 11:38 (UTC) to Aug 27 07:36 (UTC), AGL J1608-5253 was in the field of view of both IBIS/ISGRI and JEM-X
instruments onboard INTEGRAL for a total on-source time of 201 ks and 20 ks, respectively. In particular, the new IBIS/ISGRI observations
ensured a simultaneous temporal coverage of a significant fraction of the entire gamma-ray activity detected by AGILE from AGL J1608-5253 (ATel #
6427).
No source was significantly detected by INTEGRAL inside the AGILE error circle, we obtained 3-sigma upper limits of
1.4 mCrab (1.1 x 10
-11 erg cm
-2 s
-1), 1.7 mCrab (1.6 x 10
-11 erg cm
-2 s
-1)
and 2.1 mCrab (3.1 x 10
-11 erg cm
-2 s
-1) in the energy bands 20-40, 40-100 and 3-10 keV, respectively.
