We report optical spectroscopic observations of ASASSN-14es (ATel #6358) and ASASSN-14fj (ATel #6389) obtained on UT Aug 24.3 with CCDS (range 3800-7450 Angstroms) mounted on the MDM 2.4m telescope. ASASSN-14es is a normal Type Ia SN about one month after maximum light and ASASSN-14fj is a Type II SN. After correcting for the redshift of the host galaxy of ASASSN-14fj (NGC 5732 at z=0.01250), we measure a blueshifted H-alpha absorption velocity of -8000 km/s and Fe I 5169 velocity of -5300 km/s.
