We report on a search for previous Swift-BAT detections of SGR 1935+2154 (Cummings et al. ATel #6294).

Swift-BAT has seen no subthreshold image peaks within 6 arcmin of the SGR, neither short nor long duration, throughout the mission (since December 2004). The location was in the Swift-BAT field of view while the instrument was active approximately 10% of the time.

Campana et al. have reported (GCN 16535) that the source is detectable in serendipitous Swift-XRT observations in 2010 and 2011.

Gaensler notes (GCN 16533) that the new SGR is near the center of a supernova remnant of undetermined age and distance, SNR G57.2+0.8. We encourage observations of the SNR and the SGR to establish or rule out a relationship between them. Of historical interest, we note also that the first-discovered millisecond pulsar, PSR1937+21 (Backer et al. 1982) is near this region.
