WiFeS Classification of PSNJ11301337+2410072 as a SN Ia at max

We report spectroscopic classification of PSNJ11301337+2410072 with the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on the ANU 2.3m telescope at Siding Spring Observatory, NSW Australia, using the B3000/R3000 gratings (3500-9800 A, 1 A resolution). The SN was discovered by D. Grennan on 2014 Mar 20 at mag 16.7 (unfiltered) near PGC 035452. A 40-minute spectrum on WiFeS on 2014 Mar 22 shows this to be a Type Ia supernova near maximum light at a redshift consistent with the apparent host (z=0.023516 - Falco et al., 1999, PASP, 111, 438). Si 6355 and a relatively weak Si 5972 (indicating a slow decline rate) are evident, as well as Ca H/K and the IR triplet, the sulfur "W", and characteristic iron complex near 5000 A. Accounting for the host redshift, we measure a Si 6355 expansion velocity of 11,800 km/s. Classification was performed with SNID, (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), with best match to SN 2002er at -1 days.
