MAXI/GSC detected an X-ray increase from the Be X-ray binary pulsar A 0535+262 on 2014 February 27 in the 4-day bin light curve. The flux is about 20 mCrab in the 4-10 keV band. The last outburst of A 0535+262 was in 2011 February. The current one comes after 3-years of absence and might indicate a beginning of a new active phase. The orbital phase is 0.93 using Tperiastron = MJD 53613.00 and Porbit = 111.07 days in Camero-Arranz+(2012). The Swift/BAT light curve also shows a flux increase. The MAXI/GSC light curve is updated in every 4 hours at the following URL:

Follow-up optical spectral observations are strongly encouraged.
