Low resolution optical spectra of the recurrent nova V745 Sco were obtained with the 2.3m Vainu Bappu Telescope and the OMR spectrograph from the Vainu Bappu Observatory (VBO). The spectra of February 7.99 UT and 9.99 UT were obtained in the 580-860nm wavelength region, while the spectrum of February 8.99 UT was obtained in the 340-580nm wavelength region. All spectra are dominated by broad Hydrogen Balmer lines. Fe II and He I lines are present in the spectra, as also the O I 844.6nm feature. All emission lines have a broad base (H-alpha FWZI ~8500 km/s) with a very narrow peak, similar to the profile seen in NIR (ATel #5865).

Observations from the VBO are continuing.
