We report the spectroscopic classification of KAIT discovery PSN J13165936-1637570 (ATel #5715) using a near-infrared spectrum (range 800-2500 nm) obtained on Jan 2.35 UT with the FoldedPort Infrared Echellette (FIRE) spectrograph on the 6.5-m Magellan Baade Telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. Confirming the PESSTO classification with optical spectroscopy (ATel # 5716), the near-infrared spectrum shows that PSN J13165936-1637570 is a type II supernova more than a month past explosion. Adopting the redshift of the presumed host NGC 5054, z=0.005811, the near-infrared spectrum resembles that of SN 2013gd, a type IIP supernova, at ~50 days past explosion.
