We report that a spectrum of J21134481+1334335 was obtained with
FLOYDS (wavelength range 320-1000nm) on Faulkes Telescope North on UT
Oct. 24.27 2013. The spectrum reveals it to be a Type Ia supernova with high velocity features, observed well before maximum light.
Adopting the redshift of the host galaxy, NGC 7042, (z=0.016952), the Si 6150 feature has a minimum at 18,000 km/s, while the Ca IR triplet has a minimum of approximately 28,000 km/s. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190), best fits are obtained to SNe Ia approximately two weeks before maximum light.
