Spectroscopic Classification of ASASSN-13cp as a SN Ia at maximum

An optical spectrum (range 3700-9200 Angs.; resolution 7 Angs.) of ASASSN-13cp (ATel #5346) was obtained on UT Aug. 31.0 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at
LCO. The spectrum shows features characteristic of a normal Type Ia at maximum light. After correcting for the recession velocity of the host galaxy (z=0.02344 in SDSS DR9),
we measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -10400 km/s.
