iPTF Discovery of an Apparent Nova in M31

The intermediate Palomar Transient Factory (ATel #4807) report the discovery of an apparent nova in M31, iPTF13dbt, at RA = 00:44:01.52, Dec = +41:32:01.3. This optical transient was first detected on UT Aug 28.39 at magnitude R=20.3, and brightened to R=17.8 on UT Aug 29.47.
Nothing was there at this location on UT 08-28 05:01, and previous iPTF images (typically nightly observations), with typical limiting magnitudes R~21 mag.
