We report that a near-infrared spectrum (range 800-2400 nm) of the supernova in NGC 4308 (= PSN J12015272-1852183) was obtained on June 24 UT with the FoldedPort Infrared Echellette (FIRE) spectrograph on the 6.5-m Magellan Baade Telescope. Inspection of the spectrum reveals no features that are associated with Paschen series lines or He I lines at this phase. This result is consistent with the reports that optical spectra of this object match template spectra of Type Ic supernovae (ATEL #5165 and CBET 3565).
