Following the report of the optical brightening by the MASTER team (Atel #5130) of the high redshift QSO PKS2209+236 (z=1.125),cross identified with the Gamma Ray source 1FGLJ 2212.1+2358. We have observed this object at NIR wavelengths, on June 19th, 2013, MJD 2456462.940822, we found that the object presented a significant flux increase with photometric values H = 15.349 +/- 0.08, J = 16.187 +/- 0.05 and Ks = 14.888 +/- 0.09. These values are about 2 magnitudes brighter than the minimum observed in our monitoring campaign of Gamma Ray sources (MJD 2454745.797086). The source was not detected by the 2mass survey. The observations were carried out with the 2.1m telescope of the Guillermo Haro Observatory operated by the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (Mexico), equipped with the instrument CANICA a NIR camera. We strongly encourage further multi wavelength coverage of this interesting object.
