Further simultaneous HST and RXTE observations (visit #3) of the new X-ray transient XTE J1859+226 are scheduled for November 6th 1999 19:37 - 22:22 UT. Coordinated multi-wavelength observations (simultaneous, near-simultaneous, and following the evolution over days/weeks) would be extremely helpful.

If you can observe simultaneously with HST and/or RXTE, high time-resolution data (< 10 seconds) will be particularly useful. It will also be very useful to know what the source did in the gaps between our exposures, appended below both for HST and XTE.

Details of the target are given in IAUC # 7274 , IAUC # 7276 , IAUC # 7278 , IAUC # 7279 , IAUC # 7282 , IAUC # 7284 , IAUC # 7291 , ATEL #47 and ATEL #50. The coordinates are R.A. = 18h 58m 41s.51, Decl. = +22o 39' 30".2 (J2000.0). Garnavich et al. (IAUC 7276 ) give a finding chart (see link below). ***** For a best multiwavelength coverage purpose, the HST and detailed XTE schedule of the science observations is given below: ### HST ### Date: Nov 6 1999: From Start UT 19:37:07 - to End UT 22:20:06 Type: Start UT Start: 19:37:07 Type: Science 1 UT Start: 19:47:18 to UT End: 19:51:29 Type: Science 2 UT Start: 19:56:24 to UT End: 20:33:55 Type: Science 3 UT Start: 21:20:44 to UT End: 21:36:04 Type: Science 5&6 UT Start: 21:39:04 to UT End: 22:09:30 Type: Science 7 UT Start: 22:09:30 to UT End: 22:14:04 Type: End to UT End: 22:20:06 ### RXTE ### Date: Nov 6 1999: From Start UT 19:53:00 - to End UT 22:22:00 Type: Start UT Start: 19:53:00 Type: Science 1 UT Start: 19:56:00 to UT End: 20:11:00 Type: Science 2 UT Start: 21:20:00 to UT End: 21:47:00 Type: End to UT End: 22:22:00 *****
