1A 0535+262 in Outburst

The BAT instrument on Swift has detected the transient source 1A 0535+262 at the count rate > 3 times the Crab Nebula. The outburst was first detectable on May 16 in one day averages of BAT survey products in the energy band 15-195 keV. The source is currently near the Sun (~17 degrees).
