MASTER OT J165236.22+460513.2 - new bright CV

MASTER-Amur auto-detection system discovered OT source at (RA, Dec) = 16h 52m 36.22s +46d 05m 13.2s on 2013-03-12.83868 UT. The OT unfiltered magnitude is 14.8m (limit 18.4m). The OT is seen in 3 images. There is no minor planet at this place. We have reference image without OT on 2012-06-20.62133 UT with unfiltered magnitude limit 18.7m.

The object is located within 2" from the star SDSS J165236.28+460515.1 (u=21.97 g=22.10 r=21.87 i=21.29 z=20.85). No previous outbursts were detected by Catalina Sky Survey. There is nothing at this position in 1RXS, USNO-B1.0, GSC, 2MASS, GCVS and AAVSO VSX. This area of sky in Hercules is not covered by Palomar/NEAT and GALEX.

Based on the outburst amplitude (~7m) we conclude that MASTER OT J165236.22+460513.2 is a new cataclysmic variable, likely a dwarf nova of UGWZ (WZ Sge) subtype.

Follow up observations are required. The discovery and reference images are available at: http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/165236.22460513.2.png
