We have observed a recent NIR rebrightening of the quasar PKS0507+17 (z=0.416), cross identified with the gamma ray source 1FGL J0510.0+1800. On December 11th,2012, epoch JD2456272.916366, we determined the flux in the H band to be 12.706 +/- 0.02. That is 2.9 magnitudes brighter than the flux determined by the 2mass survey and presently is brightest since the epoch JD2455274.664969, when we started monitoring this object at NIR wavelengths. The activity of this object had been reported previously in Atels #4424 #4528, #4531,#4546. Observations were carried out with the 2.1m telescope of the Guillermo Haro Observatory operated by the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (Mexico), equipped with the instrument CANICA a NIR camera. We encourage further multi wavelength coverage.
