M. Stritzinger, F. Taddia, and E. Hsiao on behalf of the Carnegie Supernova Project, report that they obtained a spectrum on April 11.0 UT of LSQ12blp with the Nordic Optical Telescope (+ Alfosc). The spectrum reveals this object to be a normal type-Ia supernova at z=0.073, several days to one week past maximum brightness. LSQ12blp was discovered with the La-Silla QUEST transient survey on March 26.2 UT at RA=13:36:05.59, Dec=-11:37:16.8 at a magnitude of 19.8.
