A new NIR Flare of B2 0619+33

We report on our recent observation of the blazar B2 0619+33 also known as GB6 J0622+3326 with the CANICA NIR camera on the 2.1m telescope at the Observatorio Astrofisico Guillermo Haro, located in Cananea, Mexico. On April 22nd, 2011 (JD24555673.635370), we found this source to be in outburst. On this date the source was found to have a flux corresponding to H = 15.328 +/- 0.08. The source was not detected by the 2mass all sky survey. A previous observation by our team on JD2455599.8096, had yielded a flux corresponding to H = 19.36 +/- 0.13. That is an increase of at least 4 magnitudes in the last 2 months. Flaring activity in this source, in different wavelength ranges has been reported, in the past. (Atel #2829, #2831, #2848 and #2849). We encourage further multi wavelength coverage of this object.
