We have detected a NIR flare in the source PKSJ0339-0146, also known as WMAP J033924-0143, a highly polarized quasar. On October 14th,2010 we measured a flux corresponding to H = 14.72 +/- 0.03. While in December 1st,2008 it had a flux corresponding to H = 15.80 +/- 0.05. That is the object has increased its flux in the NIR by a factor of 2.7 over that time interval. The 2Mass survey detected this object at an intermediate flux level (H = 15.381 +/- 0.075). We encourage further multiwavelength observations.
