NIR flaring of the Gamma ray source PKS1550-242

We call attention on our recent observation of the Gamma Ray source 1FGLJ1553.4-2425 also known as PKS1550-242 with the CANICA NIR camera on the 2.1m telescope at the Observatorio Astrofísico Guillermo Haro, located in Cananea, Mexico. On June 16th, 2010 (JD24555363.741), we found this blazar to be in outburst. It showed fluxes about 1.6 magnitudes brighter than our previous NIR photometry. On this date the source was found to have a flux corresponding to H = 14.615 +/- 0.04. This flux is a factor of 4.7 times larger than the flux observed on JD24555284.976 H = 16.287 +/- 0.06 with the same instrument. We encourage further multiwavelength observations.
