AGILE confirms the detection of the new flaring gamma-ray source J0109+6134 near the Galactic plane as reported by Fermi-LAT in ATel#2414.

Integrating during the period 2010-01-31 08:20 UT to 2010-02-02 19:48 UT AGILE detected gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a source positionally consistent with J0109+6134. A maximum likelihood analysis provides a 3-sigma detection of a source with flux F = (95+/-50) e-8 ph/cm2/sec above 100 MeV, at Galactic coordinates (l,b) = (125.18, -1.21) +/- 0.6 deg and celestial coordinates (J2000) R.A. = 01 10 21, Dec. = 61 34 45.

An AGILE gamma-ray intensity map of the field above 100 MeV in Galactic coordinates for the period specified above (AGILE error box in green color and FERMI detection in grey color) can be found at http://www.asdc.asi.it/images/atel/transient_l125.jpg .

No significant gamma-ray source within the error box of J0109+6134 was detected by AGILE from a deep data integration during the period July, 2007 - October, 2009.

This detection was obtained with the AGILE satellite observing in a spinning mode, surveying a large fraction of the sky every day.

We strongly encourage multifrequency observations of the J0109+6134 field.
