MAXI/GSC detected a flare from the RS CVn type variable HR 1099 (V711 Tau)
during the transit starting at UT 2010-01-23T05:17:55. The preliminary
flux of the source in the 1.5-10 keV band was about 130 mCrab.
There was no significant detection at the location in the
previous orbit (92 min before the detection) with an upper limit of
20 mCrab. At the time of the following transit of the location, the
source was marginally detected with the flux of about 30 mCrab in the
same energy band.
