We are conducting a long-term monitoring campaign of the optical and near-IR magnitudes of gamma-ray bright blazars using the SMARTS 1.3m telescope and ANDICAM instrument. In response to the recent flaring of PKS 1244-255 observed by the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (ATel #1894), we report on the optical and near infrared magnitudes observed on UT 2009 January 10 as follows: B = 16.9, I = 15.5, J = 14.0, H = 13.0, and K = 11.4. The magnitudes for PKS 1244-255 were calculated based on comparison star data from the USNO-B1.0 Catalog and 2MASS All-Sky Catalog of Point Sources. We will continue to monitor this and other gamma-ray bright blazars on a near-daily basis. Our results are publicly available, and can be found at http://www.astro.yale.edu/smarts/glast.
