Following the report of a new Gamma-ray source by Rani et al. (ATel #17684) possibly corresponding to the radio source TXS 0605+086, and the discovery of an unreported variable star in the ATLAS archive at 3 arcsec distance from the VLBI position of the radio source (ATel #17685), we made a spectrum of the star with the 182 cm telescope of Cima Ekar, using a VPH grating at resolution 470. The spectrum showed the normal absorption lines of a G type star without emission lines, so it is unrelated to the Gamma-ray source.
