We performed a FAST observation of AT2026cex (RA(J2000)=07:30:08.5 and Dec(J2000)=+24:30:05), the candidate LFBOT reported by Tsuboi, Nakaoka, & Kawabata (ATeL #17646), using the central beam of the 19-beam receiver in L-band (1.05 GHz-1.45 GHz). The observation was performed during 2026-02-07 14:59 (UT) and 2026-02-07 16:27:00 (UT).
We searched for single pulses in the data. No convincing pulse was seen, although some tentative high DM (>1\times 10^3 cm^-3 pc) pulses with S/N of 6-8 were found. The width of the pulses lies between ~1 ms and ~7 ms.
Based on the noise calibration signal and the FAST gain, the 1\sigma upper limit on the flux density is ~0.03Jy.
We are searching for periodic signals in the same data, but no signal has been found up to now.
This work made use of the data from FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope) (https://cstr.cn/31116.02.FAST). FAST is a Chinese national mega-science facility, operated by the National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
