After detecting enhanced gamma-ray emission from the flat spectrum radio quasar 4C +27.50 (B2 2319+27; ATel#16718) we observed this object in the optical R-band with the 60cm telescope of Belogradchik Observatory, Bulgaria. During the evening of July 19th (2024-07-19 UT23:30) we obtained an R-band magnitude of about 14.6, which is about 4.2 mag brighter than what was previously reported (Roma-BZCAT; Massaro et al., 2009, A&A 495, 691), and about 0.5 mag brighter than our previous observation (ATel#15557). This is a very bright state for a blazar of redshift 1.26.
The R-band polarization was also measured: p = 8+/-2%, PA = 153+/-10 deg.
All results are preliminary. This research was partially supported by the Bulgarian National Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science under grant KP-06-H68/4 (2022). Further observations are encouraged.
