We report that a spectrum of P60-M31-080723 (ATEL#1627) was obtained with the Double Beam Spectrograph on the Palomar Hale Telescope on Aug 1 UT. Bright Balmer emission lines, H-alpha, H-beta and H-gamma were observed with gaussian FWHM velocities of 2200 km/s, 1850 km/s and 2600 km/s respectively. In addition, OI (7773 Ang, 8446 Ang), Mg II (8232 Ang, 9226 Ang), NI (8692 Ang), Ca triplet, Na D and FeII(42) lines are also observed. Following Williams et al. 1994, we classify this as an Fe II nova. We further note that the nova reached a peak magnitude of g=19.0 (Mg = -5.8), i'=18.2 (Mi = -6.6) on Jul 24.33. The nova has faded since to g=20.4 and i'=19.8 on Aug 3.33.
