M31N 2008-12a has erupted for the 16th consecutive time, and this time, it was about a year and three days after the previous eruption (ATel#16361, ATel#16362). We observed the nova with the 2.04 m Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT). The nova was detected clearly in all the u'g'r'i'z' filters.
We obtained the following magnitudes in g' and r' filters:
Date | Filter | Magnitude
2023-12-05.719 | g' | 18.45 +/- 0.04
2023-12-05.727 | r' | 18.50 +/- 0.05
The magnitudes are calibrated against PanSTARRS images. We will continue to monitor the object photometrically and spectroscopically.
We thank the staff at IAO and CREST for assisting us with the observations. We thank the observers for sparing us ToO time at HCT.
