A new outburst from the black hole X-ray binary 4U 1543-47 was detected by the MAXI/GSC nova alert system on 2022 October 21 at at 21:49 UT hours (ATel# 15715). Swift/BAT monitoring observations of 4U 1543-47 show an increase in the one day averaged 15-50 keV flux since MJD 59873 (2022 October 21) which matches well with the epoch of the X-ray enhancement detected from this source using MAXI/GSC observations (ATel# 15715). The one day averaged 15-50 keV flux on MJD 59873 (2022 October 21) was about 103 mCrab which increased to about 139 mCrab on MJD 59876 (2022 October 24). The increase in the one day averaged 15-50 keV flux is about 1.4 times since MJD 59873. The increase in the one day averaged 4-10 keV flux using MAXI/GSC observations from MJD 59873 to MJD 59876 is about 1.6 times (ATel# 15715). Swift/BAT monitoring observations confirm X-ray brightening of 4U 1543-47.
Four mini-outbursts (each lasting about 3-4 weeks) were detected by MAXI/GSC (ATel# 15715) around MJD 59630 (2022 February 20, ATel #15255, #15261), MJD 59660 (2022 March 22), MJD 59700 (2022 May 1), and MJD 59740 (2022 June 10) since the bright outburst around MJD 59376 (2021 June 11, ATel #14701, #14708, #14715, #14719, #14721, #14725, #14749, #14795, #14878, #14888, #15157). The one day averaged 15-50 keV flux from Swift/BAT monitoring observations around MJD 59630 (2022 February 20), MJD 59660 (2022 March 22), MJD 59700 (2022 May 1), and MJD 59740 (2022 June 10) were about 116 mCrab, 28 mCrab, 52 mCrab, and 51 mCrab respectively. Swift/BAT monitoring observations also confirm the onset of the four mini-outbursts detected by MAXI/GSC (ATel# 15715).
Follow-up multi-wavelength observations are encouraged.
