X-ray brightening of the 7.8 s pulsar XTE J1829-098 was reported on 2022 August 15 (ATel #15551). Swift performed a ToO observation spanning duration of about 2 ks in Photon Counting mode on 2022 August 15. An X-ray source was detected at the location, RA/Dec(J2000) = 277.4332 deg, -9.8570 deg with an estimated uncertainty of 3.5 arc-seconds radius (90% confidence). This location is equivalent to RA(J2000)= 18h 29m 43.96s, Dec(J2000)= -09d 51' 25.1".

The location of this X-ray source is consistent with the known location of XTE J1829-098 (ATel #317, #319, #11927), confirming the 2022 outburst from this pulsar.

In addition, archival observations of duration ~0.5 ks by Swift/XRT of this region taken on 2018 August 24, reveal an X-ray source at this location.

Further follow-up multiwavelength observations of the source are encouraged.

We thank the Swift Team and Observatory Duty Scientists who made these observations possible.
