We report photometric and spectroscopic observations of the blue transient AT 2022piu (= Gaia22daa, (RA,Dec) = 17:46:08.44, +21:39:41.2) from the Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory (Bulgaria). We measured V = 18.05 +/- 0.05 mag on 2022 Jul 29.94 UT on a combined 30x10s frame from the 2mRCC telescope. Three 900s spectra were taken with the FoReRo2 focal reducer of the 2mRCC telescope on 2022 Jul 29.9 UT. The spectrum of the transient shows a blue power-law continuum and a narrow H-alpha emission. We calculated an equivalent width of the H-alpha emission of -8 +/- 2 A. Our observations are in agreement with the object being a cataclysmic variable, likely a dwarf nova.

The observations were reduced and analyzed at the 2022 Beli Brezi Summer School of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
