Following the MAXI detection of X-ray transient MAXI J1816-195 on June 7th, 2022 (ATEL #15418), we observed the source with the VLA in A configuration at C-band (6 GHz) on 18th June 2022 07:41:20 UTC for 39 minutes. We detected a point source at position:
R.A.: 18:16:52.41168 +/- 0.00012 s, DEC: -19:37:57.40138 +/- 0.00473 arcsec, which matches the recent SWIFT position (ATEL #15421).
Using preliminary VLA pipeline products, we obtained a flux density of 457 +/- 20 uJy. Further analysis is ongoing. Given that the source appears to be brightening, multiwavelength observations are encouraged.
These data were taken as part of an NRAO summer student observing project. We would like to thank NRAO staff for their support.
