Following detection of the new transient MAXI J1735-272 by MAXI/GSC (ATel #14979), we performed a set of 7 tiling observations with the Neil Gehrels Swift observatory (performed between 2021-10-18 16:57:35 and 2021-10-18 18:50:28 UT, Obs IDs 00014871001, 00014872001, 00014873001, 00014874001, 00014875001, 00014876001, 00014877001). These observations cover a radius of up to 0.55 degree around the reported localization by ATel #14979, thus fully covering the uncertainty ellipse.

We detect no significant X-ray source in these XRT observations, indicating that the transient may have declined rapidly.
