We report strong H-alpha emission of M31 nova candidate AT 2021ypn (= PSP21H) discovered on 2021/09/11.602 UT by Xingming Observatory Sky Survey (XOSS).

H-alpha observations were taken on 2021 Sept 11.914 UT with the FoReRo2 focal reducer at the 2m RCC telescope at the NAO Rozhen, Bulgaria. The transient H-alpha magnitude is 15.71 ± 0.03 mag obtained from 3x300 sec co-added CCD frames. Magnitudes in B and R standard filters are also available, respectively, 16.79 ± 0.02 mag (5x240 sec; 2021 Sept 11.909 UT) and 16.39 ± 0.01 mag (5x120 sec; 2021 Sept 11.905 UT). H-alpha and R-band images can be found here.

The H-alpha brightness of the transient strongly supports its classification as nova.
