We report the optical spectroscopic observation of the recent outburst of recurrent nova M31N 2008-12a (see ATels #14130, #14131, #14138). Spectrum was obtained on October 31.59 UT using the HFOSC instrument on the 2 m Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT) in the 380-800 nm wavelength range. It consists of broad emission lines of hydrogen Balmer, He I and N III with FWHM velocity of Hα being ~2750 km/s.

HCT observations will be continued. We thank the IAO observers for sparing time to carry out the ToO observations.
