We obtained a spectrum of the transient AT 2020ubx with the SPRAT spectrograph (resolution R ~ 350; Piascik et al. 2014) on the 2-m Liverpool Telescope (Steele et al. 2004) on 2020 Sep 26.95 UT.

The spectrum clearly shows emission lines corresponding to Hα and Hβ, and we measure the FWHM of the Hα line to be ~3300 km/s. The spectrum also shows Fe II lines, including the 42 multiplet. This allows us to classify AT 2020ubx as a nova in M31, and a member of the broad-lined Fe II (Fe IIb) spectroscopic class.
