On UT 2020 Aug 31 the Very Large Array (VLA) observed the position of ZTF20abtxwfx (AT2020sev), a fast-fading red optical transient with no obvious quiescent counterpart (Andreoni et al. ATel #13978). The image RMS was 4 uJy in 24 minutes of on-source time.
A point source was detected at the position of ZTF20abtxwfx with a flux density of 50 uJy in X-band (central frequency 10 GHz). The detection of radio emission supports the hypothesis that this transient is a relativistic afterglow.
We thank the VLA staff for rapidly scheduling and executing these observations.
