We observed the new magnetar Swift J1818.0-1607 (GCN #27373, ATel #13551) on 2020-03-15 starting at 19:31 UT using the 1-m optical telescope at the Lulin Observatory in Taiwan. A series of thirteen 300-s observations was performed with the SDSS i-band filter. At the reported Swift X-ray position (GCN #27373), we do not detect Swift J1818.0-1607 in the combined (65 min exposure) image. The detection limit of the merged image is about 21.3 mag by comparing with the PS1 DR2 catalogue.
