We report on spectroscopic follow up of the optical transient TCP J18104219-1534184, which was discovered by Hideo Nishimura, Kakegawa, Shizuoka-ken, Japan on 2020-02-22.84UT (CBAT).
On 2020-02-23.38UT, we obtained a low-resolution spectrum using the WFCCD instrument on the Irenee du Pont 2.5-m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum shows P Cygni line profiles of Balmer and Fe II, indicating that the transient is a Galactic classical nova.
We encourage follow up observations in all bands.
