Following up the ATEL #13218, which determined that the reported optical counterpart of the transient Swift J1845.7-0037 is a combination of two stars, we note that the UKIDSS-DR6
Galactic Plane Survey also records two stars (epoch = 2005.4592) in close proximity at the given position with J2000 coordinates and JHK magnitudes of:
Star 1: (RA = 18 45 54.6547; DEC = -00 39 34.290) and (J,H,K = 16.778 +/- 0.017; 15.132 +/- 0.007; 13.887 +/- 0.005).
Star 2 : (RA = 18 45 54.5741 ; DEC = -00 39 33.930) and
(J,H,K = 17.432 +/- 0.029; 15.529 +/- 0.009; 14.643 +/- 0.011)
Both stars appear variable in the NIR since there is a substantial difference in their magnitudes (especially J and H) compared to 2MASS 18455462-0039341, which has (J,H,Ks = 15.801 +/- 0.000; 14.589 +/- 0.067; 13.591 +/- 0.059) as measured on 10 August 1999.
