On September 23, 2019, we obtained spectrum of AT2019qru/Gaiaefj with the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on board 2.3m ANU telescope at Siding Spring Observatory. We classify the transient as a Type II Supernova, around 10 days before maximum phase, by cross-correlating with a library of supernova spectra using the SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
