On May 6, 2019, we obtained spectra of the optical transient AT2019esa located in the nearby galaxy ESO 035-G018 (z=0.006) with the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on board 2.3m ANU telescope at Siding Spring Observatory. We classify the transient as a Type IIn Supernova (SN IIn) by cross-correlating with a library of supernova spectra using GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383).
